Please give us a brief introduction of yourself Candice?

My name is Candice September, I am a freelance makeup artist in Byron. I live on a small hobby farm with my husband, dog and cat. We moved from Melbourne a year and a half ago and absolutely love living on the Northern Rivers.

How do you plan to fulfill your creative desires for 2022?

This year I have a plan to launch a little beauty brand, the wheels are currently in motion. I'm excited and nervous and everything in between. I also plan to do a lot more test shoots to keep the creativity flowing.

Current favourite artist?

I am loving what a local lady, Andi Plowman is creating. A commission piece is a must. I also love Melissa Murphy from Melbourne.

Architecture inspiration right now?

I’ve always loved the flat planes and large window aesthetics of mid-century modern architecture. Richard Neutra, Pierre Koenig and Alistair Knox have created some of my favourite designs.

Favourite sound currently?

I don't really have a favourite sound at the moment, I’m constantly creating playlists for the different moods and environments I’m in so the scope of what I’m listening to is constantly changing. The one (fairly) constant I do have is listening to jazz and having a glass of wine while I’m cooking. It’s the best way to switch off after a long day on set.
