FASHION EDITOR & STYLIST - AUBREE SMITH.

Please give us a brief introduction of yourself Aubree?

"Hi! I'm Aubree , the Fashion Director at Order Magazine. With a rich background in fashion and a love for creative expression, I've developed a sharp eye for style and trends."

Can you talk us through how your career as a stylist and how becoming the Fashion Editor of Order Magazine come to fruition?

"I started my fashion journey at 18 with an internship at Vogue, which opened many doors. Soon after, I landed a job at Harper's Bazaar, where my career as a stylist truly began. Freelancing on ad campaigns and editorials allowed me to build a diverse portfolio. Eventually, I joined Order Magazine, where I now serve as Fashion Director, overseeing fashion content and collaborating with photographers to keep our magazine on the cutting edge of fashion."

What does a typical week in your life look like?

"As a freelancer and Director at Order Magazine, my weeks can vary drastically. One week, I might be immersed in Prada and Chanel for a feature in the magazine, while the next, I’m sourcing vintage tennis gear for an ad job. Recently, I was in the streets of Tokyo shooting Balenciaga runway pieces. Next week, I'll be styling a choir for the Phoenix Gallery. My schedule is always exciting and ever-changing, keeping me on my toes and inspired."

How would you describe your personal style and key wardrobe pieces? What are your 3 key go-to looks on high rotation?

"My personal style is inspired by the past. I've worn a red lip every day since I was 14, which has become a signature look for me. I love blending masculine and feminine elements, often pairing trousers and sweaters with Mary Jane shoes. On weekends, I like to play it up with more exciting pieces. I have always been inspired by Lauren Bacall and Lauren Hutton. I think they embody  the perfect balance of masculine and feminine, which greatly influences my style."

What is the longest-standing item in your wardrobe?

"My favorite piece in my wardrobe is my blue bird dress by Rabanne. I bought it many years ago, and it has become a cherished staple.

Describe your favorite editorial to style to date, what was the key inspiration behind each look?

One of my most cherished editorials is the recent one I styled for the cover of ORDER Magazine Issue #2. Collaborating with photographer Pierre Toussaint and the emerging talent Nick Ward was an incredible experience. We had the privilege of showcasing Celine couture in this project, which was an amazing opportunity. The concept of the shoot was deeply cinematic, with elements reminiscent of theater. What made this project truly special was the energy and character that the talent brought to the table on the day of the shoot. Despite being primarily focused on fashion, the images have a timeless quality to them. They capture not just the garments, but also the vibrancy and dynamism of the moment. It was a testament to the collaborative spirit of the team and the magic that happens when creative minds come together.

Current favorite artist?

Takashi Homma's work is truly captivating. His unique perspective and ability to capture the beauty in everyday scenes are both inspiring and thought-provoking. I admire how he combines elements of documentary photography with a distinct artistic vision, creating images that resonate with viewers on multiple levels. Homma's ability to evoke emotion and atmosphere through his photographs is truly remarkable.

Architecture inspiration right now?

Iwan Iwanoff - His architectural creations transcend mere structures; they are masterpieces of modernist ingenuity and timeless elegance.

How do you plan to fulfill your creative desires for 2024?

Honestly, I am still trying to figure that out.
