INTRODUCING CAPSULE 7 -
An ode to the romantic elegance and historic artisanship of lace. With quality craftsmanship and timeless design as her cornerstones, designer Jemyma Kavanagh has this season turned to the ancient craft and sculptural structure of lace for inspiration, along with the emotive language of colour and texture within the modern wardrobe.
Dreamy sky-blue suiting in luxuriously fine wool highlights the brand’s immaculately draped tailoring, while the transparent texture of beige striped cotton shirting evokes a crisp and easy elegance. Meanwhile, intricate lace detailing adorns the necklines of opulent, slinky silk silhouettes that are perfect for the transition from daytime into evening.
Inspired by the storied history of lace, Kavanagh has crafted Capsule 7 with a romantic spirit in mind. An artisanal craft that spans back to sixteenth century Europe, lace is particularly synonymous with the expertise of French fashion — from the heights of industrialisation to the ‘petites mains’ of the Parisian haute couture ateliers. This true expression of Métiers d'Art also evokes a distinctly feminine sensibility that has helped to inform this latest Hyde & Stone collection — for which the hero piece is a bias-cut silk dress, adorned with ornately scalloped lace.
There is a delicate play of contrasts at work throughout Capsule 7. And, true to the brand’s mindful ethos, it represents a considered collection that focuses on a tightly edited curation of wardrobe essentials. Producing only a limited number of new pieces with each new collection, Hyde & Stone designs are all made in Australia using premium fabrications in their purest form. These garments are grounded in quality craftsmanship and built to last well beyond the season, as timeless additions to the modern woman’s wardrobe — effortlessly complementing pieces past and future.
